Do You want to see Ascend Church Rotorua in Action?

Ascend Church Rotorua had a fabulous opportunity to be a part of Calvary Auckland’s service on April 7, 2019.

(The actual beginning is around the 7:00 min mark so fast forward a little bit!)

This is an amazing song in Te Reo Maori and English that our worship team sang:

Tuhia ki te rangi (write it in the sky)
Tuhia ki te whenua (write it in the land)
Tuhia ki te ngākau o ngā tāngata katoa (write it in the hearts of all people)

There is but one love
And it is your love
Ko te mea nui (the most important thing)
Ko te aroha (is love)

Your love has freed us
And we’re free indeed
Spoken to our pain
Revealing hope again

We drove up from Rotorua on Saturday afternoon, got the sound all set up at Calvary Auckland, then had a fabulous BBQ dinner with some friends.

This was the church that Scott and I were involved in when we first moved to New Zealand. Scott was the assistant pastor/youth pastor there for almost two years. We made so many amazing friends there and were welcomed into the church family immediately.

When we left in October 2004 to move to Rotorua, it was one of the most difficult things we’ve ever done to leave behind all our friends in Auckland. We were blessed that in the beginning of our church plant in Rotorua, we had many, many visitors from Calvary Auckland come down to see us and spend time with us as we were getting established.

Coming back to where our journey began in New Zealand was an incredible experience. There were a lot of people we hadn’t seen, some for years, and it was amazing to connect with them again. Most people were blown away by how tall our boys were (they were five and seven when we left), and I loved seeing all the new babies. I’ve kept in touch with many on Facebook, but there’s nothing quite like seeing someone in person!

So I hope this video blesses you. We don’t record our own services, so it was quite exciting to have a video to share.
